Caring for Your Stemware and Other Glassware

• Avoid exposing glass to extreme hot or cold, and avoid extreme temperature changes (never put a cold glass into extremely hot water, or fill a heated glass with cold liquid, for example). Don't put glassware in oven, microwave or freezer.
• Handwash only--don't put glassware in dishwasher
• Store out of direct sunlight
• Don't use metal utensils to avoid chipping or breaking, and avoid contact with hard or abrasive materials
• For candlesticks only, don't let candles burn within three inches of the candle cup, and don't drip hot wax into candle cup to secure the candle. Use dripless candles and remove any wax with denatured alcohol
• Don't slide or twirl glass, and store right side up--do not stack
• Displaying with protective felt can protect glassware when not in use
• Use bubble wrap or a soft cloth to store glassware instead of newspaper or other absorbent materials

To clean glassware:

• NEVER put this fine glassware in a dishwasher--wash only by hand
• Wash with a non-abrasive cleaner in warm water, not hot water, and consider putting a mat or towel in the sink to protect against chipping
• Rub stains with cut side of lemon and rinse with vinegar, or soak the interior with powdered dentifrice dissolved in lukewarm water--do not rub too hard to remove a stain
• Wash in distilled water if you live in an area with hard water to avoid spots and stains
• Dry with a lint-free cloth or air dry for best results
• Dust only with a soft, lint-free cloth, or a cloth dipped into a solution of 3 parts water to 1 part ammonia--wring cloth well so it's only damp and not wet
